The Scottish Greens have welcomed the endorsement of The Muslim Vote Scotland on the peach coloured regional ballot in every part of Scotland ahead of Thursday’s Scottish Parliament election.
The endorsement follows the Scottish Greens’ support for The Muslim Vote Scotland’s policy pledges, including action to tackle inequalities, support Scotland’s diverse communities and oppose Israel's genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Scottish Greens co-leader Gillian Mackay said:
“This is a hugely welcome endorsement, and we are grateful to The Muslim Vote Scotland for backing the Scottish Greens on the peach-coloured regional ballot in every part of Scotland.
“Muslim communities across Scotland deserve MSPs who will listen, act and stand with them.
“We have proudly opposed Islamophobia and stood against Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, securing a Scottish Parliament vote to support boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.
“The Scottish Greens want to build a Scotland where every community is valued, where racism is challenged and rejected and where public services work for everyone.
Gillian added:
“Too many Muslim communities have been ignored, targeted, misrepresented or taken for granted by politicians for far too long. That has to change.
“Green MSPs will work with The Muslim Vote Scotland and communities across the country to tackle health inequalities, implement long-overdue recommendations, and explore practical ways to make housing, services and opportunities fairer and more inclusive.
“At a time when Reform and the far right are trying to divide communities, this endorsement shows the importance of voting for MSPs who will stand up for equality, peace and justice.
“Every Scottish Green vote on the regional list can help elect MSPs who will fight for a fairer, kinder and more welcoming Scotland.”
