The unions representing college and university staff have made clear the urgent need for additional funding in their institutions - Ross Greer MSP

Boosting Scotland’s education sector with an additional £46m in funding for colleges and universities is ‘vital’ to ensuring staff and students can benefit from the best opportunities available to them, the Scottish Greens said.

Scottish Greens Finance spokesperson Ross Greer said:

“The unions representing college and university staff have made clear the urgent need for additional funding in their institutions.

"As long-term partners of these unions, the Scottish Greens are proud that the government of which we are a part has delivered this essential funding boost.

“I expect those colleges and universities who were planning aggressive redundancy programmes to immediately revise those plans and instead work with their staff to deliver the first-class education for which Scotland is rightly world famous.”

Johnson knighthood for dad would be beyond parody

Mon 6 Mar, 2023

Boris Johnson nominating his dad for a knighthood would be “beyond parody” say the Scottish Greens. This follows reports in The Times that Johnson is set to list his father, Stanley Johnson, for a knighthood.

The Party’s constitutional spokesperson, Ross Greer MSP, said:

“These reports are beyond parody. There’s cronyism and then there’s whatever sad joke this is.

“The only person who could conceivably believe that Stanley Johnson deserves an honour is his dishonest and incompetent Tory court jester of a son.
