Reform is party of the super rich

Commenting on the defection of Malcolm Offord to Reform, Scottish Green constitutional spokesperson, Patrick Harvie, said:
“Reform is the party of the super rich. They have no interest in improving the lives of ordinary people and families.
“If they did then they wouldn’t have welcomed Malcolm Offord who has spent years climbing to the highest levels of the Tory Party and bankrolling them while they introduced disastrous policies that plunged people into poverty.
“The fact that he has joined Reform only days after Nigel Farage made disgusting racist attacks on bilingual children tells us everything that we need to know about his priorities.
“At the Scottish Parliament elections next May, every vote for the Scottish Greens will be a vote for a fairer, greener and independent Scotland where power lies with the people rather than being hoarded by the super rich and their friends.”
Patrick added:
“Malcolm Offord has suggested he will be leaving the Lords, but he should never have been there in the first place. None of them should be.
“Yet instead of living up to his promise to scrap the undemocratic relic that is the House of Lords, Keir Starmer is about to stuff it full of more of his own cronies.
“One of the many benefits of Scottish independence is that it will finally allow us to finally build a modern democracy.”
