Justice for WASPI women a moral imperative

It is crucial that the Labour government delivers justice for WASPI women, says the
Scottish Greens’ social justice spokesperson, Maggie Chapman.
Ms Chapman will speak in a Members Debate to be held today in Holyrood by SNP MSP Kenneth Gibson.
Ms Chapman said:
“Keir Starmer’s betrayal of the WASPI women will not be forgotten. Labour MPs campaigned on it saying they would deliver compensation to win votes and get elected. But they’ve cast these women aside and turned their backs as soon as they got into government.
“The women who have been affected deserve fair, fast and full compensation. It is a moral imperative and a test that Labour is failing badly.
“Far too many women have died without justice. We will always stand in solidarity with WASPI women, they are our mothers, sisters, carers, neighbours and friends.
“Since taking power in June, Labour has cut the Winter Fuel Payment and retained the cruel two-child benefit cap. We cannot allow them to further betray millions of women all across the UK.”
