Greens will build fairer, greener and affordable Scotland

Speaking three months before the Scottish Parliament elections, Scottish Green Co-leader Gillian Mackay said:
“Scotland needs change. People are fed up with the soaring cost of everything, from rising energy bills, to the eyewatering costs of childcare and the weekly food shop.
“Costs are far too high, and families all over our country are struggling to stretch their budgets. Meanwhile, a small number of extremely wealthy people are growing richer by the day.
“We want to build a better Scotland, a fairer Scotland - a greener Scotland. One that works for families and communities, and doesn’t favour the richest over the rest of us.
“Scotland deserves so much better than a disgraced and discredited Labour government that is exhausted after only 18 months and stumbling from crisis to crisis.
“We have shown the difference that Green voices can make. It was the Scottish Greens who scrapped school meal debt for thousands of families, ended peak rail fares for workers and commuters and introduced free bus travel for young people across Scotland.
“It is the Scottish Greens who ensured the Government committed to taxing million pound homes and private jets to raise funds for vital services like schools and hospitals.
“We are the only party prepared to stand up for human rights and against dangerous rogue world leaders like Donald Trump.
“With only three months to go, the choice could not be clearer. Every vote for the
Scottish Greens is a vote for a fairer, greener and independent Scotland.”
