Scottish Greens have been leading calls for a rescue deal for Glasgow’s libraries and leisure centres.

Yesterday the Chair of Glasgow Life confirmed the organisation is facing a £25 million funding gap this year. That’s a blow to everyone who’s concerned about the future of these vital services.

He also said that there’s a crunch meeting next week, with the Scottish Government, to make the case for a rescue deal.

We need to make sure they hear loud and clear, before that meeting, how much Glasgow needs its lifeline libraries and leisure centres.

Last week, the Scottish Greens helped to force an SNP u-turn on plans to cut funding to Glasgow’s law and advice centres and women’s charities. We can help save libraries and leisure facilities too.
