Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to our climate, peace and human rights around the world. We need to send him a clear message: Trump is not welcome in Scotland.
The politics that Trump represents are the exact opposite of everything that Scotland should stand for. The last time he was in office he introduced racist anti-Muslim laws and showed a total disregard for our environment and reproductive rights before attempting to overthrow democracy on January 6th 2021.
Since retaking office, he has torn apart crucial services such as the Nuclear Safety Agency. His Vice President has told lies about Scotland. He's threatened the territory of UK allies like Greenland and Canada. His catastrophic proposals for Gaza amount to ethnic cleansing. And he's now doing Putin’s bidding against Ukraine.
This cannot be allowed to remain unchallenged. And it certainly can't be rewarded, which is what Keir Starmer did when he invited Trump to Scotland for an "unprecedented" second state visit.
It’s time for Scotland to take a stand.
