Sandy joined the Scottish Green Party in 2014 because he felt that is was a perfect fit for his beliefs - putting People and Planet first through social justice and equality.
Sandy worked in the NHS as a Senior Biomedical Scientist and was also the workplace representative for the Unite Union.
Sandy says
"I’ve been involved as a volunteer in a range of local organisations and I’m currently an active committee member with the Kirkcaldy Ingolstadt Association, Kirkcaldy Acoustic Music Club, Dysart Allotment Association and Thornton Locos FC. I’m a member of The Consumers’ Association, Scottish CND and Greener Kirkcaldy.
The Scottish Green Party is now the fourth largest party in the Scottish Parliament and we have a Scottish Green Party Regional MSP representing Fife. I believe the time is right to build on these achievements and bring the party’s progressive policies to local government in Fife by working to get Scottish Green Party councillors elected."
Sandy is a co-ordinator for the Mid Fife Greens and Fife Branch membership secretary.
