The Scottish Green Party has confirmed Jacq Cottrell will contest the North Berwick Coastal ward in the forthcoming Council elections.
An international environment and development expert will stand for the Greens in North Berwick Coastal. Jacq Cottrell advises governments in developing countries on green economy and sustainability, working for the United Nations and national development agencies.
Jacq commented:
I have come across so many exciting and innovative ideas for low-carbon transition in my professional life, and I would love to use my role as a councillor to bring them to East Lothian and make it the greenest council in Scotland.
The impact of the climate crisis is being seen already in East Lothian and we must take action now.
In our positive local election campaign, I will highlight the innovative policies we will bring to improve active travel, community empowerment, sustainable planning and affordable housing.
