Workplace protections must be improved while vaccines rolled out
Responding to the decision of the JCVI to continue to prioritise the rollout of vaccines through age cohorts, Scottish Greens MSP Mark Ruskell, a member of Holyrood’s COVID-19 Committee, said:
“The Scottish Greens have repeatedly made the case for occupational prioritisation of the vaccine rollout once the vulnerable groups had been completed. However we respect the decision announced by the JCVI to prioritise age cohorts and the difficult balance that needs to be struck with ensuring the speed of the roll out is maintained.”
“It’s now more important than ever that the Scottish Government redoubles its efforts to ensure workplaces are Covid-19 safe, before widescale opening of the economy is considered. This must include making sure regular testing is much more widely available as quickly as possible.”
