From: greencomms@scottish.parliament.uk MEDIA RELEASE GREEN MSPs 5 September 2012 Re Scottish Government cabinet reshuffle. Patrick Harvie MSP, Co-convener of the Scottish Greens, said: "We welcome the focus on building the case for independence and promoting economic recovery, and urge the Scottish Government to be bold. Nicola Sturgeon needs to build a positive, compelling vision of a more equal and forward-thinking Scotland rather than trying not to scare the horses. "Ministers should consider radical reforms that bring social and ethical considerations into our economy rather than persisting with the irresponsible free-market approach that has failed so many people. We hope Paul Wheelhouse makes the most of his new brief to push climate change up the Cabinet's agenda. "New ministers would do well to follow the example of Bruce Crawford. We may have had our party political differences but he was always thoroughly professional, maintaining constructive lines of communication between Greens and Government. We wish him well for the future."
