Scotland can guarantee a future for our young people
Kirsten Robb, Scottish Green Party spokesperson for Youth and Women’s Employment and candidate for Central Scotland, is championing our Scotland Guarantee – a promise of a job, training or education for every young person in Scotland.
Speaking outside the University of the West of Scotland in Hamilton, Robb said:
“Scotland’s prospects depend on a secure future for our young people. While we wait for further powers over employment rights, the Scottish Green Party will continue to push the Scottish Government to focus on creating high quality, sustainable, long term job opportunities, and to move any public funding of businesses to those who provide decent work and a living wage.
"We have shown how making energy efficiency a national infrastructure priority will create over 6000 apprenticeships and provide properly insulated homes, ensuring no one is forced to live in fuel poverty. Our commitment to free education for all is unwavering, and we will push for an increase in college places, to put training in practical skills and trades on an equal footing with academic achievement.”
