Following a fire at Park Primary School in Invergordon today, Scottish Greens Highlands and Islands MSP John Finnie said:

“I am relieved that all pupils and staff were evacuated from the school and welcome confirmation from The Highland Council that alternative accommodation will be provided at Invergordon Academy. Early reports suggest that an old laptop may be the cause of the fire and, while it is vital that all appropriate investigation takes place, it is important that the council ensures lessons are learned and shared with other schools across the Highlands and beyond as soon as practicably possible.”
