Labour MSPs urged to back motion for Starmer to go

Ross Greer has urged Labour MSPs to back his motion calling on Keir Starmer to resign.
The motion, which was lodged in the immediate aftermath of Anas Sarwar's anti-Starmer speech, reads “That the Parliament believes that Sir Keir Starmer must immediately resign as Prime Minister.”
Ross Greer said:
“This can't go on. Keir Starmer has shredded the little moral authority he had left and he’s clearly lost the public. Labour’s MSPs know that better than anyone, they're the ones knocking on doors and watching their vote go up in smoke.
“I'm giving those MSPs the opportunity to tell us where they stand. Are they with Anas Sarwar or Keir Starmer? If it's Sarwar, they should back my motion and make clear that they have no confidence in the Prime Minister.
“Keir Starmer chose to give Peter Mandelson huge influence over Labour and a powerful government job despite knowing that he kept up a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein after his conviction for child sex abuse. Nobody who would make a decision like that deserves to be anywhere near Downing Street.
“Whether it was the cruel cuts to winter fuel payments, the support for Israel’s genocide against Palestinians or appointing Mandelson, this Labour government has been a disgrace, and they all know it.
“What does it tell us about Scottish Labour when Sarwar’s London bosses are able to dismiss and ignore him like this? It's time for his MSP colleagues to back him. Do they really support this chaotic, cruel and shambolic Westminster government?”
