Labour list: "Selection shows Dugdale out of time" says Harvie
Patrick Harvie, MSP and co-convenor of the Scottish Greens has today said that the Labour candidate selection for the Holyrood election shows a "party out of ideas, out of energy and out of time".
Only 8 of the top 32 list spaces across the eight lists for Scottish Labour were given to people who have not previously been elected to Holyrood or to Westminster.
Labour leader Kezia Dugdale had previously spoken of the need to let fresh talent in to her party's candidate ranks.
Patrick said:
"The Labour candidate selection shows a party out of ideas, out of energy and out of time. They will need to do more than resurrect a few failed MPs to get the attention of the Scottish electorate.
"The Scottish Greens will be offering voters radical plans for a better Scotland and a bolder Holyrood, and we'll do so with a track record of positive achievements that come from constructive politics."
