The Scottish Greens have welcomed the publication of a new Scotsman/Savanta-ComRes opinion poll which shows that the party are on course to elect a record number of MSPs in May.

This is also the 21st consecutive poll to demonstrate majority support for independence.

Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater said:

“This poll is the latest in a long line to suggest that the Scottish Greens are headed for a record result in May.

“It’s clear that the public appreciate the constructive approach to opposition adopted by the Greens which has seen us punch well above our weight in this session of parliament, delivering for the people of Scotland.

“An astonishing 21 consecutive opinion polls have now demonstrated majorities in favour of independence. Scottish Greens will go into May’s election with a clear commitment to put Scotland’s future in Scotland’s hands.”

A new opinion poll published today by Daily Record/Survation has the Scottish Greens set for a record result in May’s election.

The poll suggests the party could claim eleven seats in the Scottish Parliament, more than doubling its current contingent of MSPs.

A new opinion poll published today by STV/Ipsos-Mori shows the Scottish Greens set for a record result in May’s election.

The poll suggests the party could claim nine seats in the Scottish Parliament, a 50% increase on its 2016 haul.

Boris Johnson’s decision to visit Scotland today to ‘save the union’ is unnecessary during COVID restrictions, the Scottish Greens have said.

The Prime Minister is due to visit Scotland today in an attempt to tackle ‘separatism’.

Responding, Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater said: “Normally we would welcome a visit from the Prime Minister, given every time he comes to Scotland support for a different future for our country goes up.
