Green MSP Applauds Top Students
West of Scotland Green MSP and former Bearsden Academy pupil Ross Greer has lodged a motion in Parliament to congratulate three award-winning East Dunbartonshire students. All three finalists in the Scottish Higher category at the recent British Education Awards were from schools in the area. The winner of this category was Innes Johnston of Bishopbriggs Academy and the other finalists were Amy Catriona McCall of Bearsden Academy and Daniel Dewar of Lenzie Academy.
The British Education awards, given to reward exemplary academic and extracurricular achievement, were announced at a ceremony in London attended by students from around the UK.
Ross Greer, a former pupil of Bearsden Academy, said:
“Innes, Amy and Daniel can be extremely proud of their achievements. It is tremendous recognition of not only their own work, but of the hard work done by staff at their schools and others in their communities. I wish them every success for the future.”
