Salary: £29,335 - £33,541 per annum

Hours: 30 hours per week. Please note, as part of the Scottish Greens Parliamentary Group, Kristopher operates a four-day working week, and 30 hours is full time.

Location: Either availability to be in Parliament 3 days a week, alternatively hybrid working from Orkney with some travel across the region

This role will provide day-to-day administrative support in Kristopher’s regional office, acting as a first point of contact for constituents. The postholder will manage enquiries, coordinate casework, and draft correspondence, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring GDPR compliance.

This role will involve regular travel across the region to support Kristopher at events, meetings and engagements ensuring a visible, responsive and effective presence to constituents across the Highlands & Islands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support within Kristopher’s regional office and coordinating internally with the wider Scottish Greens Parliamentary Group.
  • Coordinate, track and monitor casework across the region.
    • Act as a first point of contact for constituents across the Highlands & Islands.
    • Manage a high volume of incoming correspondence, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally, sensitively and within agreed timescales.
    • Ensure issues are progressed effectively and resolved in a timely manner with challenging cases escalated to the Head of Office or central casework team where required.
    • Draft clear and accurate written correspondence on behalf of Kristopher including letters and requests for information
  • Manage regional travel and support with diary & expenses management for Kristopher and the Head of Office.
  • Monitor parliamentary affairs relevant to Kristopher’s portfolio and regional focus
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with data protection legislation and GDPR requirements, always maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Have excellent written, verbal and IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach, being able to use good judgement and work on own initiative.
  • Be well organised with the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
  • Essential to have demonstrated knowledge of 2 of the following areas, 3 or more highly desirable; Shetland, Orkney, Caithness, Sutherland, & Ross, and/or Western Isles
