GREENS REPLACE REFORM IN LICENCING BOARD LEADERSHIP
The City of Glasgow Licencing Board has voted to replace the vice-convenorship space previously held by new Reform Councillor Thomas Kerr with Green Councillor Dan Hutchison in a unanimous vote.

Today, 14th February, the City of Glasgow Licencing Board voted to replace the vice-convenorship space previously held by new Reform Councillor Thomas Kerr with Green Councillor Dan Hutchison in a unanimous vote by board members.
Cllr Hutchison has been a member of the licensing board since his election in 2022 and has previously been a City of Glasgow Personal Licence Holder and Premises Manager in licenced venues in the city. He was also an officer for Unite Hospitality prior to his election. He brings significant experience in the licenced trade to the board’s leadership.
Cllr Dan Hutchison, Green Councillor for Govan and now Vice-Convener of the City of Glasgow Licencing Board said about the appointment:
“After spending most of my professional life in the hospitality trade, I know how important the regulation of our city's licensed venues is and how vital the work of the Licensing Board is. The well managed regulation of our cities venues is crucial to maintain and improve the cultural significance of the city, while ensuring that the licensing objectives are upheld.
Having the experience of working in multiple venues under the jurisdiction of the board, in management, as well as waiting and tending bar, I know how important it is that venues operate as safely and responsibly as they possibly can, for the public and crucially, or their workers. I look forward to working with the Convenor and the rest of the board in continuing my work in this new position.”
